Practicing our Safety Drills

As August came to a close, we continued practicing routines and procedures.  This week Glenbrook staff and students learned about and practiced each of our safety drills.  We will do this 3 times, with the help of the both Streamwood Police and Fire Department to make sure that each drill runs safe and all staff and students know exactly what to do in the event of a bus accident, fire, severe weather emergency, or another dangerous situation.  It's always great to practice these types of drills at home too. 

• Do your children know how to exit your house in a fire?  
• Do they know what to do in a tornado?  
• Do they know how to call 911?
• Do they have their address memorized along with emergency names and phone numbers? 

Band and Orchestra for 5th and 6th Grades

Band and Orchestra are about to begin for our 5th and 6th graders. This week students who had interest in starting, and were knew to the music program had an opportunity to come and try our a couple of instruments.  Band Director Mr. Charles Naffier and Orchestra Director Ms. Jennifer Gontarek discussed the program and the various instruments before showing they how to play.  The instrument sign up night will be on September 9 at Streamwood High School.
