 We'll miss you, Mrs. Chandler

On November 10, 2020, we unexpectedly lost a young, vibrant teacher. Mrs. Chandler passed away without explanation. It's so difficult to lose someone in such a tragic way.  I found this quote today that I thought was befitting.

"There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains." — Unknown

So, Mrs. Laura Chandler, today, we remember the good times. We thank you for all that you have done for each and every one of us. For your hard work and dedication to Glenbrook, the students, the staff, and your friends.  We love you and will miss you. Until we meet again!

Veterans' Day

This year we had to find a way to honor our veterans virtually.  Students and teachers read books, made cards, and watched videos about the sacrifices these heroes made for our country.  We were fortunate enough to have one veteran, Mr. Trummel be able to visit our 6th grade virtually to talk about his experience.

Katelyn Wong drew this beautiful American Flag.

Below are 2 versions of the White Table. The empty is
place setting, for the missing soldier.

Evan Hopman gives a chilling rendition of Taps
                                                      in honor of Veterans Day.

K-2 Students Return to In-Person Instruction

Over 90 Kindergarten, first, and second-grade students returned to in-person learning this week.  I was so proud of them for their hard work and ability to stay safe. All students wore masks and tried their best to remain socially distant.  We are learning all of the safety rules, especially, "What does 6 feet look like?"  Thanks to all of the parents who have been practicing at home. We can "see" their smiles under their masks and in their eyes.
