Another Week of Celebrations at Glenbrook!

This week we had a many celebrations and fun at Glenbrook.  Tuesday, May 2 was a very special night as I was honored as Principal of the Year by Hanover Township.  The night was made even more special because one of our 6th grade students Diavyance Richardson was also awarded the Rising Star Award. It truly was a very special event.  Thanks to all of those who came out to celebrate Diavyance and I as well as those who sent both of us messages throughout the week!

This week we also held our Scholastic Book Fair and Family Reading Night.  Thanks to Jill Piwko who organized the event as well as our parent and grandparent volunteers. A special thanks to Heidi Podzamsky, a former Glenbrook parent, who came back to help on Family Reading Night. This event was hosted by our 6th graders and they did a fabulous job reading books and preparing activities for our younger students. Thank you to Mrs. Bury, Mrs. Chandler-Roth, Mrs. Diaz-Blanco and Mrs. Jagielski for helping your students to prepare for the event.  Awesome job 6th graders!!!!

The PTA held a contest to see who could advertise their favorite books via video.  Congratulations to our Book Fair video contest winners. To view a couple of the videos go to:

Most Creative : Aima Okuoya, Sara Rizo-Deben, Daniela Pallares
Most Interesting: Makayla Rodriguez, Rainelle Seriosa, Alika Shelton
Best Summary: Aashni Patel, Lillie Svendsen

On Saturday morning, while school was closed, Tri-Village Community (Part of Wheaton Bible Church)  worked hard during their annual Carefest. They cleaned up our school yard, edged, mulched, weeded, trimmed and planted flowers. It looks amazing! Tri-Village Community Church is located in the Awana's building at the corner of Bode Road and Bartlett Road in Streamwood. Thank you Pastor Will and friends for your support!
