National School Breakfast Week
Breakfast is really the most important meal of the day, especially for growing children. Since 1989 schools in the United States have been recognizing National School Breakfast Week as a way to promote healthy eating and to raise awareness of our school's nutritiounally sound breakfast program. Last week we had over 100 students come out each day to join us for breakfast and participate in a variety of "get moving" activities. A special Thanks to Mrs. McGovern, Mrs. Pierson and Mr. DeCoste for organizing the week of fun.
Twist it Tuesday worked our waist lines. We also enjoyed an assembly put on by the Schamburg Boomers. They talked about how healthy eating is just as important as exercise in keeping our bodies strong. Wednesday was designated as Workout Wednesday where Mr. DeCoste led the students in a workout routine. On Thursday the students enjoyed some games with Mr. DeCoste, the world's greatest physical education teachers. Finally, we had a special visitor on Friday with Captain Nutrition. What a fun way to balance nutrition and excercise, and also a great way to start the day!
Glenbrook's Annual Family Fun Fair
One of the most popular events run by the Parent/Teacher Association is our Family Fun Fair. Each year hundreds of guests join us for games, face painting, hot dogs, raffles and more. Thanks to the parent and teacher volunteers as well as the student volunteers from Canton Middle School and Streamwood High School's Key Club and AVID program! We could never have put on such a successful event without you. Check out the awesome photos below.
Let the games begin!
What would a party be without an amazing D.J. and some delicious food!
