Celebrating Reading with Dr. Seuss for
Read for the Record Day and our Battle of the Books Teams
Glenbrook is proud to have 2 fantastic coaches for our Battle of the Books Blue and Gold Teams. Thank you Mrs. Bury and Mrs. Chandler-Roth for working hard with our 4th, 5th and 6th graders to support them with their reading and their competitions. Both teams worked very hard this year and had a great season. Congratulations to all of you! Check out some pictures from our last event at Poplar Creek Library.
To celebrate the amazing season, the coaches had a pizza party for the students. As you can see in the pictures, they had a great time! A special thanks to our 6th graders, many who have been on the team for 3 years. What dedication!
In honor of the great author, Dr. Theodor Seuss Geise, March 2nd students across U-46 celebrate "Read for the Record" Day. This years event was great fun for us. First, it was a way for us to celebrate a fantastic fundraiser and secondly, we celebrated by welcoming guest readers throughout the building. Thanks to all of our guest readers for stopping by Glenbrook to share your books. We loved having you!
Mrs. Trisha Shrode, Director of Curriculum and Instruction read to Ms. Scarpino's kindergarten class. |
Mr. John Heiderscheidt, Director of School Safety and Culture, shared a book with Mrs. Chelleberg's and Ms. Reiser's Classes. |
Our library fundraiser was a HUGE success! Thanks to all of the students, families and staff who worked hard to collect funds to purchase new books. Your hard work paid off because you raised $950! Way to go Glenbrook Hawks! Here are just a few pictures from the library reading day. The winning classrooms and the "Librarian for a Day," the student who raised the most funds, will be announced on Monday, March 6th.
