Student Creativity at Glenbrook
Student creativity was abundant at Glenbrook and this week we sure had fun watching the students create and explore each others creations Check out this week's events.
National Lunch Week
Each day our Youth Advisory Council (YAC) held a spirit day to encourage healthy eating and to promote exercise. They encouraged their friends to wear school colors, sports attire and even created a healthy "Rap" which they performed in front of all of each lunch group! What fun we all had. Here are a few pictures and the lyrics from their song.
Eat your dairy
And the world won't be scary.
Eat your grains
And you'll have a good brain.
Eat your fruit
And you'll be cute.
If you wanna be valid
Eat your salad.
Eat your greens
And you'll be lean.
Always eat your vegetables
Don't eat lunchables.
You're gonna get fat
Like my grandma's cat.
Eat your meat
And you'll be on flack.
I wonder if you know
Kungpow chickens how we go.
First you put the peperoni in the wrap.
Then you put it in the oven, that's where it's at.
Eat your cinna flakes
They'll make you feel great.
This is our YAC
RAP!
Cardboard Challenge
Friday evening we held our annual Cardboard Challenge. The students were encouraged to use cardboard and other recyclable materials to create games
and /or cardboard structures with their friends, families or independently. They brought their creations and we had a mini arcade set up in the gym. The creativity was astounding!
Congratulations to all of the participants for your wonderful and unique creations. Besides opening our doors to a fantastic family night, you helped us to raise $115.00 in funds for our STEM program. Thank you Mrs. Smith for organizing the event and we look forward to next year's event!
