Partnering with Poplar Creek Library for
a night of fun!
Thanks to Lisa Fabris and the library staff we had a great time at our "Pizza and Library" night at Poplar Creek Library. With over 130 guests, our students enjoyed a night of stories, games and pizza with many of our teachers and staff. Students also had a chance to check out some books and visit the computer lab at the library.
Mrs. Esmenda registered all of the students, handing each one of them a station card. They visited 3 stations, pizza, games and read-a-loud. Students and parents also checked out books and visited the computer lab. We collected the tickets at the end of the night and the next morning 6 lucky winners were selected to receive a $5.00 gift card to Dairy Queen!!
Yummy!!!
Mrs. DeRoo, Mrs. Jagielski and Mrs. Dimitrakis read some favorite books aloud to the students. From Pete the Cat to Where the Wild Things Are, students of all ages enjoyed listening to the stories.
Mr. Whitmer and many parents enjoyed playing a variety of board games with the students. There were many traditional games, such as Chutes and Ladders and Connect 4, to choose from, and a few new and unique ones like Animal Upon Animal.
Some students made sure they had some time to sneak away to the computer lab and some snuck a little bit of phone time too!
What's a party without pizza! Poplar Creek Library was kind enough to donate pizza to serve all of us, and then some! Families enjoyed the company of others during dinner. Mrs. Bury, Ms. Lucas and their daughters Gabriella and Hannah, helped serve all 130 plus guests.
Thanks parents, students, staff and Poplar Creek Library
for a great night!!
