Glenbrook's First Annual Global Cardboard Challenge
We could never have imagined that our First Annual Global Cardboard Challenge would have been such a huge success. We have 76 participants!! A special thanks to Mrs. Smith for organizing the event and to Mrs. Dauksavage and Ms. Reiser who had full participation from their entire class!
So, what is the Global Cardboard Challenge? The Global Cardboard Challenge and annual event started by the Imagination Foundation to celebrate children's creativity and encouraging community and schools to take a role in fostering it. The challenge is inspired by the short film, 'Caine's Arcade' which can be found at: http://cainesarcade.com/
The only requirement was that students had to use cardboard and other recyclable material to create a game or display and they needed to use their imaginations and creativity to do so.
Students could work in partners, in groups, with their families or independently. They absolutely surprised all of us with their amazing talent and creativity!!!!!
Students in Mrs. Dauksavage's 5th Grade IGNITE classroom created an entire mini golf course which connected to some research that they were doing in social studies. Each mini golf hole was transformed into a mini version of a historical world landmark.
