Week 6 - Distant Learning

On March 13, when we students left for the day and found out that we would be closed for COVID19 safety requirements, I don't think too many of us predicted we'd still be home 6 weeks later.  This week, during Teacher Appreciation Week, we found ourselves still working remotely in the best ways we know-how.

Thank you to the many teachers in our children's' lives. To their classroom teachers, thank you for the extra work you have put in to try to engage students in their new remote classroom. It's not easy to design lessons, record videos, video conferences, and teach when your students are so far from you.  Kudos to you all!

To our "at-home teachers," our parents. Thank you for supporting your children by filling in the gaps where the teachers can't due to the distance.  Since the day your children were born you have been their number one teacher.  We appreciate you more than you know.

During this time, it's more important than ever that we become partners in our children's learning.  Thank you again, to all of the teachers in our children's lives!

Check out this video of the Barron siblings (Valeria and    ) who created a great shoe-tapping music video.  Click her for the youtube video

This week we also celebrated National Nurse's Day. Glenbrook has 2 amazing nurses, Mrs. Barb Rutkowski and Ms. Amy Janis.  These 2 ladies have always looked out for the best interest of our kiddos and continue to do so even now.  Thank you, ladies!

A final thank you must go out to our awesome food service staff, led by Jetha Fuller.  Each of these ladies has spent the past 6-weeks feeding our students 3 meals and 1 snack per day.  Rain, snow, or shine, Ms. Monica, Ms. Karla, Ms. Isabella, Ms. Vita, and Mrs. Rutkowski, have handed out meals.  Thank you, ladies, for your service; you are superheroes!
