Spelling Bee Finals

Congratulations to Tejas Katira who represented Glenbrook in the Kane County Spelling Bee Finals in Geneva, IL.  We are very proud of his 5th place finish.  To make the bee move faster the Scripps organization added a vocabulary section. This year's bee was particularly tough, knocking out nearly half of the contestants in one single round!  From timidly to excursion and cholera to emulate, Tejas powered through both the spelling and vocabulary rounds keeping pace with the others.  Way to make us proud Tejas!

Recess

Spring has sprung this week, so the kiddos have enjoyed some outside time. To help keep them engaged, yet in control, we have implemented stations with games and activities. Overall, the feedback from students has been positive.  After we return from our break we will make some adjustments based on suggestions from adults and students, but overall, they are learning some new games and having fun! Below are photos of the K-3 groups, I missed taking intermediate photos, sorry. The intermediate students added a couple of different games to their repertoire, including "Around the World" basketball and kickball.
