Since you've been gone.....
We sure have missed the boys and girls here at Glenbrook, but we are keeping very busy with the few staff still at the building. It definitely is quiet though! On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of most weeks, we are handing out meals to families. Remember, all kids ages 18 and under are eligible for meals, regardless of income status. We have moved to a drive-up lane, so simply pull up to the front curb and we will bring your meals to you. The next pick up dates are: March 27, 30, April 1, 3, 6, 8, and Thursday, April 9. We are closed on April 10 for a spring holiday.
The snow this week brought us a little entertainment. It actually looked like little cotton flowers on the bushes and trees. We also entertained ourselves a bit with some singing and dancing, especially when a couple of birthday kids came by! Ms. Jetha even did her birthday dance!
This week was also our Chromebook distribution to families grades K-4. Any family that did not have a district-issued device at home was eligible to pick one up. We are hoping that we can get more Chromebooks in the coming weeks if school does not resume soon. If that happens, we will be able to issue an additional Chromebook for households with more than 1 student doing Distant Learning. Remember, school starts again on March 31, so look for an information coming from your teachers. It is expected that all students participate in Distant Learning!
While we don't know yet how long students and staff will be away, rooms are being disinfected and the hallways are quietly waiting for students. I'm doing my best to entertain who I can through my online read-a-louds. If you haven't tuned in, I've included my links below. They are silly, but I hope your children enjoy connecting with me. The last link if from our librarian, Mrs. McDonald. It's a book with short stories for the older students. (Grades 4 and up) Take care everyone and enjoy your family time, it's strange, but we often long for it!
