A Mish Mosh of Marvel

There is so much to cover in this week's blog!  Our students, staff, and parents continue to be marvelous each and every day!  We had so much to celebrate as we headed into our spring break.

Young Authors
110 students wrote books this year for our Young Author's Program. The texts were filled with creativity, information, and fun.  A big thank you to Mrs. Jagielski for organizing two fun events, one during the day where students learned if they were one of our 10 finalists and one in the evening where families could come to read the fabulous pieces. Congratulations to all of our Young Authors, and a special "CONGRATULATIONS" to the following winners:

Champions

Congratulations to Aadityi Sanghavi (Aadi) who competed in the final of the Kane County Spelling Bee on March 15.  Aadi had a great showing coming in 4th place!  We are so proud of Aadi for his hard work. Way to represent Glenbrook Aadi!

Congratulations to Brandon Cardoza who placed 5th overall in the Illinois State Chess Championship!  This is not an easy feat, but Brandon used his skill and expertise in the game to shine and show off as a Glenbrook student. Impressive Brandon!

Our very own Kaitlyn Doud competed at the Level 3 Illinois State Gymnastics Championship at Illinois State University. She brought home 5 medals, one for each event plus 4th place All-Around.
You may be little Kaitlyn, but you are a big winner!  We are impressed and proud of your hard work!

Rube Goldberg
Rube Goldberg machines were one of a kind contraptions for sure, and they are really fun too!  Mrs. Jagielski's class created them as a way to show their final understanding of many concepts of motion.  (See what are Rube Goldberg machines)

Librarian For A Day
Aiden Shrode, the winner of our Read Across Glenbrook contest, became a Librarian for a day on 3/22.  He worked hard all day and was a great help to Mrs. McDonald. Thank you, Aiden for your service, and for the delicious baked goods you made for the staff. We loved having you on our team!!!
