Happy New Year!
While many of us are making new years resolutions, some of our 6th graders turned their resolutions into promises. Based on the stories shared by Alex Sheen in his book, Because I Said I Would, our 6th graders learned the importance of a promise. Congratulations to Mrs. Jagielski's and Mrs. Diaz-Blanco's class for taking the time to really put your hearts into your promises. To hear more about this inspiring message, click on video link by Alex Sheen. Enjoy the below promises and may they inspire you to make a promise of your own.
U-46 Educational Foundation Grant Winner
Congratulations to Mrs. Michelle Esmenda, our school secretary. She applied for and received a $500 grant through the U-46 Educational Foundation. The money will go towards letters for our new marquee in front of the building. Students at Glenbrook will be helping to display weekly messages to families in order to improve our communication. Thank you Mrs. Esmenda for taking the time out to support our students and to apply for the grand. THANK YOU to the U-46 Educational Foundation for your generosity!!!
Fundraising Opportunity
Beginning on Monday, January 14, our students will begin selling Worlds Finest Chocolate to help raise funds for our PTA. The money will go towards what we still need to fund the letters for our new sign. Any additional funds will go into our general account which helps fund our ST Math Program, Reading A - Z and many events that we hold at the school. Each bar is $1.00. Thank you in advance for your support!
Hawk Pride Popsicle Day
This week's "gotcha drawing" was for popsicles with the principal. We had hoped to have popsicles in the snow, however with the temperatures outside nearing 0 degrees, we decided a popsicle party in the gym would be just as fun! Congratulations to all of our drawing winners.
