Camp Duncan
Cardboard Challenge
Twice a year our 6th graders enjoy a trip to Camp Duncan in Volo, IL. This year was no different. On Thursday our 6th graders did an awesome job showing Hawk Pride as they problem solved through a variety of group dilemmas. The students worked cooperatively to solve problems and had a great time doing so. Thanks Glenbrook students for doing an amazing job. We can't wait until the extended day trip in the spring!
Each year we look forward to our Annual Cardboard Challenge. This year our students continued to share their creativity in unique ways. The goal is to use cardboard and other recyclable materials to create a game or structure. The students did not disappoint. Some worked collaboratively with other friends, some with families, some did individual projects, but all students did a fantastic job. Thank you to Mrs. Smith for organizing the event and to Mrs. Jagielski, Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Chandler and families for joining us and supporting our students' creations!
The idea of the Cardboard Challenge came from a boy named Caine. If you'd like to learn more about this innovative and inspiring boy, check out the video on the website at Caine's Arcade .
