So Much To Be Thankful For!

We are so thankful for Glenbrook's students, staff and parents. This week we celebrated the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday with lots of traditional activities from making paper turkeys to cooking homemade cranberry sauce, the students had a great time.  Classrooms also did a few history lessons, read stories and did lots and lots of creative writing.  You won't want to miss these great photos!

A special thank you to the United Church of Christ for their donation of Thanksgiving food baskets to some of our families in need.  Each year the church has dropped off donation for us!  Additionally, a special thank you to all of the students and staff who collected food for Hanover Townships food pantry.  We had hundrends of items donated to support families who need a little extra help during the holidays.

Mrs. Bury and Mrs. Jagielski's class enjoyed their "friendsgiving day."  The classes learned how to make homemade cranberry sauce, created sweet turkey treats, and planned a Thanksgiving meal on a budget.  Everyone enjoyed the day, but not everyone enjoyed the cranberry sauce!

Kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms enjoyed some fun activities too.  Cornucopia and turkeys all with the "I'm Thankful for..." theme filled the afternoon.  Mrs. Gustafson and Mrs. Berenson invited parents in for a STEM day on Tuesday as well.  Although this did not follow our Thanksgiving theme, it does remind us to be extra thankful for all of the volunteers who joined them!
Thank you to all Glenbrook volunteers, we are very grateful for all that you do!

Mr. Whitmer's class enjoyed learning about immigrants who came to the United States from all over the world.  The students shared their immigration stories and their contributions by changing the words to the song "This Land is Your Land."  I've attached the words in case you want to sing along!

Our kindergarten classrooms enjoyed their afternoon playtime. Shhhh, they don't even know that they are learning!
