Fall Celebrations with a Wintery Feel

The nearly 4 inches of snow that fell this Halloween didn't stop us from having some fun!  Halloween sure was a strange day, but the celebrations continued.  Spooks, princesses, superheroes and more enjoyed a parade, movies, games, crafts and delicious treats.  A big thank you to all of the parents who joined in our celebration!

                

                        

 

                    

                          

                        

             

                    

                    

 

Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

On Friday many of our classrooms continued their celebrations by honoring their loved ones that have passed away during the Dia de Los Muertos celebrations.  Students brought photos to display on an altar, ate pan de Muertos and made Cempazutchil flowers, which are very symbolic of this holiday.  Classes have been learning about this holiday, with origins in the Aztec and Mayan civilizations but also have Catholic influence from the colonization times. In addition, some students wrote Calavera Poems, which are written humorously for politicians, celebrities or just friends and family members.

 

                      

                    

                          

                     

                            

Chuck E. Cheese Ends the Week!

Why not end the week with a Dining Out Night at Chuck E. Cheese?  We had a great turn out for our dining out event which is always fun.  Chuck E. Cheese himself even came to school to remind us all of the event.  Thanks to all who joined us!
