DARE Graduation

We are so thankful that the Village of Streamwood continues to fund the DARE program in conjunction with the Streamwood Police Department.  Office Ed Polaski, our school's DARE officer put in countless hours helping our students to learn to stand their ground and say "NO" to drugs, alcohol, bullying and anything else that made them uncomfortable.  They worked hard on developing self-esteem and becoming positive role models at Glenbrook.  We are proud of all of our graduates for their hard work.  Thank you to Officer Ed, the Streamwood Police Department, Mayor Billie Roth and to the entire Village of Streamwood for supporting our students!

A BIG congratulations to our DARE Essay winners, Emily Alvarado, Neda Bazys, Ariana Guerrero, and Ayaka Vieira. All four girls wrote fabulous and inspiring essays!

Winter Celebrations
As students prepared to take their 2-week winter break classrooms spend much of the week partnering to do group projects and learned about the various holidays celebrated throughout the season.  We at Glenbrook wish all of you a safe and joyous holiday season and happy start to 2019!

NED Visits Glenbrook

Our staff and students always enjoy a visit from Justin and NED!  Each year they join us to share some magic, comedy, yo-yo tricks and an inspiring message.  This year was no different. Justin shared the story of NED's awesome adventure where he learned to:

Never Give Up
Encourage Others
Do your Best

We also learned how NED used the power of "Yet" to help him accomplish something really hard.  You see, when things are hard, we have to understand that we just can't do it "yet!"  If we keep trying, we can accomplish anything!

Band Concert

Our 5th and 6th graders joined the middle and high school students for their first band concert of the year. They did an excellent job, making us all proud!

Spelling Bee Champion

Congratulations to Aaditya Sanghavi for becoming Glenbrook's all school Spelling Bee Champion. This is Aadi's 2nd year winning the school's championship. He will now head to the regional bee which will take place in February.  The names of the classroom champions and more photos will be posted in next week's blog.
