Fun, Fun and More Fun!

The students have worked very hard this week, especially with all of the PARCC testing they have done.  It was a great week to make sure we got in some fun and entertainment. Our 1,2, and 6th graders were a great source of entertainment for us at their Spring Sing on Wednesday evening. thanks to Mr. Magdelin for doing such a great job with our students. Thanks also to everyone who came out to enjoy the performance.

The annual Family Fun Fair was held on Friday evening, and as usual it was a huge success!  The students and their families enjoyed games, prizes, raffle baskets and some tasty treats.  Thanks to Dawn Heath who head up the fun fair and to all of those committee people who were in charge of putting all of the pieces together. A special thanks to all of our volunteers from parents, to high school students, to teachers, and to our amazing 6th grade leaders. We couldn't have done it without you!!!

Fine Arts at Glenbrook

Each week the students at Glenbrook enjoy time in art, music, physical education and library.  Even in these classes students are learning important concepts to further develop in each of the areas.  I'm always amazed at the talent our young people have!  Take a look at a few recent photos from our fine arts classrooms, library and at a our first spring music concert. The next concert, for grades 1, 2, and 6 will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at Streamwood High School.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

On Thursday we celebrated Read Across America Day with a big thank you to those who donated $10 or more to our library fundraiser.  We collected over $1500 for purchasing new books!  The students were able to spend 30 extra minutes in the library this week and had a great time.  The student with the highest donation will become Librarian for a Day!  Watch for the big announcement next week.

And..... more Valentine's Day photos from 1st grade!
