Happy Halloween
Feliz Dia De Los Muertes
Our fall festivals were different this year, but students, teachers, and our families still managed to have some fun. There were virtual parties, online crafts, costumes, and "at home" decorations. I am enjoying the photographs that everyone sent, so I'm posting them for you all to see. Remember, every student who submitted a photo below had their name put in the drawing. The video below shows me doing the drawing on Saturday morning, Halloween. You'll have to listen to see if you are the winner! (Actually, I'll contact the winners to get them the $25.00 gift certificates.) Click on this link to hear/see the drawing.

Classroom Fun (Online of course!)
Mrs. Chandler's Class made crafts, read spooky stories, and even started a little science (ghost cars?)
Mrs. Diaz-Blanco's Class created "flowers of the dead" often known as cempasochil or flor de muertos.
Mrs. Jagielski's Class enjoyed a well-attended costume party!
Mrs. Svec's Class wrote a scary story together. (Well, maybe not too scary!)Colin in Mrs. Smith's Class joined his classroom party with a few "at home" friends.
Emerson from Mr. Whitmer's Class share's her Halloween costume at the classroom Zoom party and while outside with her dog who is also dressed up to celebrate the holiday!
Anthony Sorellino (Mrs. Smith's Class) and Luca Sorellino (Mrs. Smith's Class) shared their Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos Celebrations. Looking good boys! I hardly recognize you!
Beautiful!
I hope you are enjoying your Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos celebrations. Below are a few stories that I recorded for the kids to help them celebrate the holidays.
Mr. DeRoo and I celebrated with our 4 grandsons yesterday. Our little Jack-o-Lantern (Jack) and our 3 Ninja Turtles (Owen, Henry, and Colin) had a really fun day, and so did we! Their favorite story was The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything!
