Art, Music, and Gym
Art, music, and gym classes are much more than just play. Each grade level follows a specific curriculum that helps students learn about the fine arts.
Art - Ms. Schmidt
Ms. Schmidt is an art teacher with a lot of talent. She very creatively teaches students about artists and the special techniques that they use within their artwork. I'm always amazed at the creativity our students have. I can't wait to see the finished products!
Music - Mr. Maegdlin
Mr. Maegdlin has loads of energy and always keeps music fun. Students learn to read music and learn to play a variety of percussion instruments. Mr. Maegdlin accompanies them on the keyboard and their voices sing with joy. He has been very impressed by the quality of our music our students produce since he has been teaching here at Glenbrook. They are learning things such as notes, staffs, melody, rhythm, and pitch, even in the primary grades.
Gym - Mr. DeCoste
Athletic skills are just one part of the physical education classes run by Mr. DeCoste. He spends a lot of time working on teamwork and cooperation skills in class. Students are always problem-solving too. Mr. DeCoste was lucky enough to have a couple of pairs of shoes donated in case students forget them. They are brand new too.
Mrs. Gontarek
This week we enjoyed a concert at Canton Middle School with our 5th and 6th-grade Orchestra students. They performed exquisitely! Thanks for working so hard Mrs. Gontarek and students, we loved it!
