Tuesday Fun at Poplar Creek Library
Every Tuesday Glenbrook students and staff met at the library for reading, exploring, and learning. It has been a great summer and we've had lots of fun meeting at the library from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Our last group meeting was Tuesday, July 26, but of course the library will be open all summer for your enjoyment and we encourage our students to continue reading. BINGO logs are due to Poplar Creek by August 1, so stop by the children's department and get your prizes!
Many students came each week to check out new books, read and visit with Mrs. DeRoo and some Glenbrook teachers. It has been great hearing about the books they have read and about all of their summer adventures.
Completing the summer reading BINGO logs are a great way to win all sorts of cool prizes. The students have their eyes on books, gift certificates and some really awesome packages in the display case.
Even Officer Matt and Office Ed, our Streamwood Police Department D.A.R.E officers, have joined in the fun this summer. They do a safety presentation with the students right after a Spanish story/craft time. The Spanish story time begins at 10:00 am and the safety presentation at 10:45 am. Also, this Tuesday, July 19 at 11:00 Jan's Clan Puppets will perform. It's a great performance for kids age 5 and up.
